This is ideal for healthy, young amateur athletes. This will involve an electrocardiogram, screening questionnaire and brief cardiovascular examination. This is the heart screening recommended by the European Society of Cardiology for all children and athletes (over 12 years) who take part in regular competitive sport.

This is ideal for the high level amateur or professional athlete. This is identical to the Basic screening but also includes an echocardiogram. An echocardiogram is a heart scan that assesses the precise structure and function of the heart chambers and valves. This is the screening recommended by the Football Association for junior professional footballers.
